 This past September, I had the opportunity to spend over a week at Casa Salvàtica. Although it was in the middle of rain season, my experience was magical. Jungle life at its best in the comfort of a fully renovated accommodation that met all my needs. A magnificent view of the ocean down below, howling monkeys and white-faced capuchin, regular visitors that entertained us with their "concert" and antics; butterflies of all sizes, shapes and bright colors feasting on flowers near the house, especially the Blue Morpho butterfly lazily flip-flopping around the deck at breakfast time, a real treat! Also as an avid bird-watcher, I was not disappointed when the toucans and other exotic species showed up.  We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Selvatica! The house and property are so beautiful and peaceful.Some ofmy favorite moments of our trip were spent enjoying coffee on the deck while watching monkeys play in thetrees and observing so many species of birds. Eric and his team were very responsive and available to answerany questions right away. The road into the property definitely requires a 4x4 and even better if you can get a vehicle with good clearance.We arrived at night and were still able to find it with the clear and detailed directions provided.The location is perfect for day-trip excursions.We really hope to return again to this little paradise.  I cannot say enough about what an incredible experience this was.When we arrived the house literally took our breath away.The nature that surrounded this place was breathtaking.There were even monkeys playing in the trees over the balcony the first night we arrived.The home was spotless with really nice ⁦decor. lt⁩ was an experience in and of itself to stay in this beautiful home with an ocean view,(bring binoculars).We loved it so much we didn't want to leave so we chose to make dinner one night and not go into town.The kitchen has wonderful cookware and utensils. Also started making breakfast every morning.The host are incredibly nice and helpful. l just can't recommend this place enough.You will not be disappointed! December 2024

 Casa Selvatica was an exceptional stay. The views were simply stunning, and the tranquility while surrounded by jungle noises was unparalleled. The glass walls provided incredible panoramic vistas, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the natural beauty. The house layout suited us very well. We travelled with adult children and they had their own quarters with separate entrances downstairs. It allowed them and us to have privacy while also providing us with large common space upstairs to spend time as a family. The wildlife encounters were truly extraordinary. Early in the morning, we were thrilled to hear the haunting calls of howler monkeys echoing through the trees, even though we didn’t catch a glimpse of them. Throughout the day, we were amazed by the abundance of capuchins, often swinging through the trees and playfully entertaining us. The big tree next to the house serves as their bed chambers at night. We also had the privilege of spotting toucans, macaws, and even a few snakes and frogs during our night walk. The presence of geckos at night added a unique charm, and the unexpected visit from the crested guans while we were in the pool was a hilarious and unforgettable highlight. This property is well-suited for nature lovers as well as connoisseurs of luxury vacations. Inside, everything was brand new and of the high quality, making our stay incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. The house has a very well stocked kitchen which we put to use quite a bit. We even used the outdoor grill after a local resident recommended an amazing pescadería (fish store) just down the main street. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, but if you feel like cooking, there is a grocery market a few minutes’ drive away. Using the freshest local fish and produce, we prepared a delicious dinner that was made even more special by the stunning surroundings. Sorry, can’t comment on TV programming since a thought of even touching a TV remote control never crossed anybody’s mind. This was the last stop of our Costa Rican journey, and I’m so glad it was. If it had been our first accommodation, I’m sure the others would have paled in comparison. Ending our trip here left us with very pleasant memories and a strong desire to return again. Casa Selvatica is a true paradise for nature lovers and those seeking a unique and luxurious vacation. We highly recommend it for an unforgettable experience. Vlad & family. January 2025

 We stayed at La Casa Selvatica for 5 days on the run up to Christmas and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay! From the amazing views to the perfect amenities this place is truly paradise. Hidden in the jungle we were surrounded by tropical wildlife with a view of the ocean, each morning when we stepped outside for our morning coffee we were greeted by colourful birds and the amazing sounds of monkeys. What an unbelievable experience. On the inside of the house it was just as beautiful, the owners have truly made a home away from home, everything you need to cook, entertain and sleep perfectly was all there at your disposal. With air conditioning throughout the home and in each bedroom we all had a perfect nights sleep. I would highly highly highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a vacation in Costa Rica and I would 100% stay again, and we will be going back thanks to the ease of the owners and the beauty of what they offered. 5* 10/10 and if I could rate it higher I would.  Nous avons passé un séjour extraordinaire à la Casa Selvatica au milieu de la jungle avec vue sur le Pacifique et les bruits chaque jour de la vie sauvage ! Famille de 4, nous avons profité d’une maison très confortable où chacun avait son espace autour d’une terrasse magnifique et d’une piscine.  As soon as you turn off the highway you enter a beautiful rainforest. From there it's a 2.5 km of a picturesque drive and you reach the entrance to Casa Selvatica, and a final gate. Once we entered we were pleasantly surprised by a very nice gift basket, fresh fruit, coffee and even a bottle of wine. The interior of the house is perfect, the view is something you'd dream of. During our stay we saw a large variety of birds(toucans, trogans, oropendolas, king vultures soaring above!) mammals, frogs, and even a snake. Every morning and evening you could hear the howler monkeys in the distance. Blue Morpho Butterflies were very common on the property and road. When looking out to the left of the deck, there is a big tree, on occasion the white face capuchins would show up and overnight in it. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a location to access all the beauty in the Uvita area. The only thing our kids didn't enjoy was the exterior staircase to the lower bedrooms.  We had an incredible stay at Eric's place. The sights and sounds were almost unbelievable as we were immediately greeted by toucans and capuchin monkeys in the trees above the deck, with the sounds of howler monkeys in the valley below. The property is gorgeous, the house fresh, modern, and clean with a fully equipped kitchen. Spectacular views from every window and the giant patio doors, and even from the main shower. The 2.5km (ish) drive up the hill from the main road is sporty, but adds to the experience. The road is in good shape, just a bit steep in spots. Awd/4x4 should be considered if staying here, not sure you could make it up there in 2wd if the road were wet. We did experience heavy showers at night. Eric is very personable host, friendly, responsive to any inquires, always helpful and available. Thank you. I would love to stay here again one day. February 2025

 We had the great pleasure of being among the first guests to experience Eric's new amazing jungle home, Casa Selvatica. While Costa Rica's rainy season presented a full-on challenge for us, with three of the rainiest days of this year, our stay at Casa Selvatica was a sheer jungle immersion blast. Eric's freshly remodeled home, with its high-quality appliances, great AC throughout the whole house, fast internet, and modern, stylish design, made our time there a truly relaxing experience. Raining or not, sitting in a large living room with a wall-to-wall sliding door opened and sipping coffee and fresh pineapple juice while enjoying stunning ocean and jungle views at the same time delivered on a promise of the true Pura Vida.
